L.A. & The Summit w/ 30 Seconds to Mars
I call this the trip to Heaven and Hell. L.A. couldn't have been more of an amazing time, but my travel home was terrible with missed flights, closed airports, 5 hour runway waits in a plane, sleeping in an airport and finally getting home a day after I was supposed to. I am so glad to be home.
So, the big reason I went out to SoCal was for The Summit with my boys in 30 Seconds to Mars. It was the finale of my trip and it was an unbelievable experience.
We were able to help the band record material for their 3rd album that they are working on with legendary producer Flood (see his Wikipedia entry). It was a long day that lasted from 2pm until almost 9pm but was worth every second. I am beyond stoked to be a part of this band's new record and I cannot wait to hear their new songs in full. We were able to hear snippets of what they are working on and I have to say -- the boys are on the mark. The shit sounds good yo! Jared also did a couple of acoustic songs that we are all familiar with as a bonus which we loved.
As if all of that wasn't cool enough I was able to meet a TON of new people as well as see a lot of my other friends that I have gotten to know over the years while promoting this band and I couldn't have been more excited about that. These people have become part of my life in more ways than one and to get to "share air" with them was sweet. I only wish we all had more time to hang out and revel in it all.
So, yeah. Pretty fantastic.
I was also able to have some fun while there going to a few hot spots and taking the cliche Hollywood double decker bus tour which was pretty cool. It was a complete and total blast.
Special thanks goes out to Shawn for getting my booty out there. If it wasn't for her making it possible for me to go I would've been sitting in Nebraska missing it all. You rock lady.
The following are some media from my trip and The Summit. Enjoy!
