Grand Island, NE - Electric Sky Entertainment's Cornstock 2009 Music Festival will be held June 20th this year. 6 Nebraska bands will be performing. Headlining will be Emphatic. Emphatic is an active rock band from Omaha, NE. After recording with producer Matt Noveskey, bassist for Blue October, they released their latest EP which has sold over 10,000 CD's independently and had a 17 week run on Billboards West North Central Heatseekers Chart with the single "Goodbye Girl." They have shared the stage with bands such as Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Hollywood Undead and many others. Also performing are Sins of the Father (North Platte), Poor Mans Opera (Lincoln/Omaha), Faith Buried in Flames (Omaha/Norfolk), American Gunfight (Burwell/Kearney) and Krynge (Grand Island).

Sins of the Father was formed back in 2006 and played their first show in September of 2008. With a solid group of members the band played many shows across Nebraska. They debutedtheir first EP on February 14, 2009. With a full-length album in the works and summer tour on the horizon the band continues to move forward with their own brand of heavy metal.

Poor Man's Opera is a rock band that got their start performing around the midwest as a cover band. In 2006, they released thier debut EP called Lucid Interval and began performing orginal material. They have performed many shows across Nebraska and have recently released a new single entitled "Words You Wore".

Metal band Faith Buried in Flames has had a lot of experience playing shows in the Nebraska music scene. Their first EP was released in June 2008 and they are currently in the process of writing new material for their first full-length album.

American Gun Fight was founded in 2007 and has been playing shows heavily around Nebraska since 2008. They bring to the music scene a dynamic combination of heavy rock and metal with a feel of the "Old Wild West". They just finished recording their first EP in Cairo at Clamhead Studios with Producer Tony Ray Robertson and Allen Kohtz of Electric Sky Entertainment.

This is the second year of the Cornstock Music Festival. The goal of the festival is to expose central Nebraska residents to some of the best musical talents the state has to offer. This rain or shine, all ages event will take place in the Conestoga Mall Parking Lot in Grand Island, NE. Tickets are available for purchase at the Conestoga Mall Customer Service or call (308) 382-4210 for more information. Ticket cost is $25 in advance (Only $4.17 per band!) and $30 day of show. Gates for the festival will open at 5 PM. An on-site beer garden will be provided by Firehouse Bar and Grill, food by The Garden Cafe and many vendor booths for attendees to visit.
